As with most other years (with the exception of the last, which fell victim to the Covid pandemic) Dortmund held a Comic Con this December, presenting a lineup of TV and movie stars from the whole world. Now, the comic con lineup was slightly troubled by the still ungoing global pandemic, and that meant that a lot of stars unfortunately had to dip out in the last minute. Still, plenty of stars showed. We here at Moviefanblogger went to see these stars, and report back from the panels. In the coming weeks we will give you some insights about what the stars said on stage. Before then though, I will present the stars who were there, so you get a feel for this years Dortmund Comic Con lineup.
Comic Con Lineup – The Groups
As is common with Comic Con, the stars were often part of specific groups based on tv-shows or film franchises they all starred in. That way they allowed time for more different panels, with more people to answer questions and lure people in for each. It also allowed for the convention to have more specific merch matching the the franchises and shows they had more people from, as fans of those properties would be more likely to be presenet. Franchises included: Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Vampire Diaries, Vikings, Gotham, Pretty Little Liars and more.
Game of Thrones
Four actors from Game of Thrones were present. Among them the biggest name was probably Daniel Portman, who played Podrick Payne. Another well known member was Natalia Tena, who played Osha. She was only present on saturday, however, and therefore missed the sunday panel. Also present was Renly Baratheon actor Gethin Anthony, as well as Night King actor Vladimir Furdik. Vladimir also acted as a stuntman throughout the show, and had therefore been present a lot throughout the show.
Harry Potter
From the Harry Potter franchise the biggest star was Matthew Lewis, known for playing Neville Longbottom. He appeared as part of the Harry Potter panel on both saturday and sunday. Along with him was Afshan Azad, who plays Padma Patel in Harry Potter, and Alfred Enoch, who plays Dean Thomas. Alfred unfortunately only stayed around for the saturday, and was therefore not present at the sunday panel. Additionally to these three, Natalia Tena was present, as mentioned under the Game of Thrones paragraph. In Harry Potter she plays the role of Nymphadora Tonks. However, she did not take part of the Harry Potter panel, presumably because they only put stars on 1 panel per day, and preferred her to be on the Game of Thrones one.
Vikings
Vikings was the show with the most stars present. On top of that the stars were actually some of the biggest characters from the show. Floki actor Gustaf Skarsgård, Bjorn actor Alexander Ludwig, Ivar actor Alex Høgh Andersen, Torvi actress Georgia Hirst and Rollo actor Clive Standen were all present. For Vikings fans the the event was therefore a big deal, and a lot of insights on the show was shared by the big stars on both saturday and sunday.
Pretty Little Liars
Three of the stars from Pretty Little Liars were present. These were Sasha Pieterse who plays Alison, Ian Harding who plays Ezra and Huw Collins who plays Dr. Elliott. All three of them were present on both days, taking their place on the big stage on saturday and the small one on sunday.
Vampire Diaries
Vampire Diaries only had 2 stars present, but those two still kept the crowds engaged. The 2 stars were Jodi Lyn O’Keefe, who played Dr. Jo Laughlin on the show, and Daniel Gillies, who played Elijah Mikaelson. Gillies character is notable for being one of the two leads in the spinoff show The Originals.
Gotham
The two Gotham panels featured two of the leads of the show. One of the was David Mazouz, who in the show plays Bruce Wayne, the young kid who will some day become Batman. The other was Erin Richards, who plays Barbara Kean, lead man Jim Gordon’s initial love interest, who takes a darker turn throughout the series.

The Comic Con lineup of course included several other big stars, that were not put together with others. The most notable big stars from this year’s Dortmund Comic Con lineup was:
